I am very much obliged to you for your kind invitation to Mrs. Lee and myself to visit you at your White Sulphur Springs. I assure you it would give us great pleasure to do so did her health permit. But she is unable to travel so far – it is xxxx to her comfort that I should be with her in her journeys.
I hope that I may have the pleasure some day of xxxx xxxx Belle, who is fast becoming a young lady.
With my kind regards to every member of your family
I am very xxxx
your oblxxxx
